Project Viewer available now that supports both Bing and the new Google translation service.

There is a new Project Viewer available now that supports both Bing and the new Google translation service:

Thanks to some nice volunteer work by Vadim ProductEngine, you will still have a translator in your viewer in Second Life.

But there is a catch:

Microsoft now charging big prices for Bing Translator

As you may already know, back in May Google announced the deprecation of the free Translate API v1 and they will drop all free translation on December 1, 2011. As a result, all viewers will require updates to continue with any translation, even paid versions.

But what is really bad is that yesterday on 9/14/2011, Microsoft changed policy from a free service to the bare minimum of only 2,000 free translations a month. The depressing part is that the Microsoft Bing translator, limited as it is, is still probably the best way for anyone to get free, useful translations in Second Life.   If you are one of the half of SL that does not 'speak' English, this is very bad news.

I've got pricing and more information in the rest of this article, and how to use set up the viewer to us Bing to get free translation in Second Life.
